On December 15th, Patrolman Andrew Parsley arrested Justin Schneider, 24, of Jackson after investigating a suspicious person call at the Wawa located on West Bay Avenue.
Ptl. Parsley had responded to the scene after anonymous callers reported that a male subject was approaching vehicles in the parking lot and asking people for money. Ptl. Parsley observed Schneider (who fit the description) in the lot and approached him. During the course of the ensuing conversation it was discovered that Schneider had an outstanding $449 warrant out of Manchester municipal court.
Ptl. Parsley began to place Schneider in handcuffs at which time Schneider attempted to surreptitiously remove and discard a cigarette pack from his pocket.  Sergeant Jason Carroll, who was on scene providing backup, observed same at which time Schneider was cuffed and the pack recovered.
The cigarette pack was found to contain a hypodermic syringe and ten packets of heroin.
Schneider was charged with possession of CDS and tampering with evidence. He was lodged in the Ocean County Jail in default of $25,000 bail.
