Barnegat officers arrested Steven Doell, 26, of Forked River on August 1st at 7:30pm after a foot pursuit. Patrolmen Timothy Bradshaw and Nicholas Dapuzzo had responded to the Barnegat Motel on Route 9 to arrest Doell on the strength of a no-bail warrant issued by the Ocean County Sheriffs Department.
After knocking on the door of the motel room in which they believed Doell to be staying, Patrolman Dapuzzo observed Doell exit the rear window of the room and run from the scene. The officers gave chase on foot through the dirt roadway and wooded area behind the motel. Patrolman Richard Carr intercepted Doell in the area of Starboard Avenue and took him into custody.
Doell was charged with obstructing the administration of law by flight. He was processed and lodged in the Ocean County Jail.
